Well this is one of my favourite topics, how many times have I heard people talking about various techniques and things you must or must not do as part of SEO.

The strange thing here is that nobody actually knows for sure what the Google, Yahoo or Bing algorithm is for certain. What we do know is that certain elements are just a load of baloney and other elements actually make a difference.

So, I thought I would start off an SEO myths section, the info here is based on experience and from Google and Yahoo direct out of their terms / guidelines and from the people who work there.

So here goes, SEO Myth No 1

If your site is W3C and Bobby compliant then you will get a better position in the ranking. – Is this true or false?
