I Wonder Where my Wonder Wheel is

Google have removed the wonder wheel, what a shame. This is / was an ace tool for finding related key phrases for help with content writing and landing page work.

I will see if I can find an alternative! I used to love the ease of this tool and how well it worked.

With any luck, this will be a temporary removal as part of the new look Google and we will see it back shortly.

Google Page Rank Update

Looks like we are seeing a PR update. I am getting reports from various sources and sites we look after have increased in PR. Usually after an increase in PR we see a lot of email spam with ‘Paid PR Links’ for sale, I don’t expect this time to be any different.

As an example, ‘holiday properties‘ went from a PR1 to a PR4.

Google Panda Update Video – Rand Fishkin

Rand talks about the Google Panda Update. Here at Sigma Web we love this update. Yes it has flaws but it is a step in the right direction. Watch and listen to this short video. We have a couple of content writers who have been writing in this style for years, humour and interest far outweigh plain tech stuff. I am pleased someone with authority in the industry is echoing our techniques and mantra. We take our SEO seriously, with humorous content! Read the rest of this entry »

SEO Myths – No4

It has been a while since I posted on SEO Myths, so here is another one for you.

‘We need to have our site submitted to as many search engines as possible. The best way to do this is to use some auto submission software because this will save us hours and hours of work.’

We have top positions on many search engines and this includes the main ones and of course Google but we never submit our sites to search engines. The search engines will find your sites if you set them up and link build properly.

All you need is good website seo.
